Introduction
Slate Design Co. partnered with the BIM builders to bring a hillside family retreat to life.
Set beside the river and framed by mountain contours, the project required architectural and structural BIM modeling, complete visualization, and documentation that reflected the site’s calm, cohesive intent.
Challenges
Frequent design updates and rugged topography created major coordination challenges.
Rapid revisions caused version drift between architecture and structure, while steep slopes and retaining interfaces complicated the foundation strategy and on-site clarity.
Solutions
We integrated as Slate Design’s remote BIM partner, managing all updates and coordination.
By maintaining a single Revit master, disciplined sheet standards, and weekly model drops, we eliminated version drift. Terrain-informed modeling aligned structure and slope, while contextual renders resolved siting, privacy, and view concerns before documentation.
